A guy on a job in Tacoma told me my wire pulling lube method was making things harder

He said I was putting too much on the cable itself instead of inside the conduit, which just made a mess and didn't help the pull. I tried his way, focusing the lube in the pipe, and the next 300-foot pull went smooth as butter. What's your go-to trick for tough pulls in long runs?

Wait, are you sure? I've always coated the cable directly and it's worked fine for me. Sometimes putting it in the pipe first just means it all gets pushed to one end anyway.

My buddy swears by using a shop vac to pull a pull string through first.
