Khan Academy vs. IXL for my 8th grader's math prep

My daughter was struggling with algebra and we tried IXL for a month with those point systems but she just rushed through problems. Switched to Khan Academy's free videos and practice last month and her test scores jumped from a 72 to an 89 because the step by step explanations actually made sense. Has anyone else seen a big difference between these two platforms for middle school?
