I finally had a student admit my free Khan Academy referral saved their grade
This kid in my evening GED prep class told me last Tuesday he was about to drop out because he couldn't afford a tutor, but after I showed him the free math resources he pulled a 78 on his final. Anyone else ever get that gut feeling when a free resource actually works better than the paid stuff?

Free stuff hitting harder than paid tutors. That's always the way it goes sometimes. Those big companies overcharge for basic stuff you can find online. Khan Academy's math stuff is legit, straight up saved my nephew too. The problem is people think expensive means better, but it's usually just marketing fluff. Glad that kid stuck with it and proved them wrong.
