I finally caved and bought a used graphing calculator for $40
Found a TI-84 Plus at a pawn shop near Cleveland last month. The math practice software I tried just didn't cut it for my son's algebra class. That old calculator helped him grasp equations way faster than any online thing I found. Anybody else hit a wall with those free resources and just went back to the old school tools?

Dug out my dad's old TI-83 from the basement when I was helping my daughter with pre-calc last year. That thing still had the original manual in the case and it worked way better than any graphing app I tried on my phone. The buttons just feel right and you don't have to mess with glitchy touchscreens or loading times. Spent $10 on new batteries and it's been running smooth ever since. Sometimes the old hardware just clicks better when you're learning math concepts.

Wait, you're telling me a $100 calculator from the 90s outlasts a $1000 smartphone's fancy graphing app? What's next, you gonna tell me your dad's old cassette deck sounds better than Spotify?
