Had to toss out my whole lesson plan after the projector died mid-class Tuesday

I was running through a slideshow on ancient Rome for my 10th graders and the bulb just went poof with 30 minutes left, so I had to wing it with just a whiteboard and some hand gestures. Has anyone found a good backup resource that works when tech fails and you're stuck teaching on the fly?

Oh man, I feel that pain. My projector died once during a lesson on fractions and I ended up drawing pie charts that looked more like abstract art. Honestly, having a stack of printed worksheets or a quick list of "whiteboard only" activities saved my skin more times than I care to admit.

Wait, abstract art pie charts? That's honestly hilarious but also kind of terrifying if you think about how confused the kids must have been. I'm picturing a kid asking if the 3/4 slice is supposed to look like a melted clock or something. Thats a solid survival tip though, having those backup plans is clutch. I had a teacher who just froze up when her tech failed and it was so awkward for everyone.
