Blew $120 on a 'lifetime access' math tutoring platform that shut down 4 months later
The site went dark with no warning, no refunds, and now my students are stuck with broken links - has anyone else lost money to an online education startup that vanished overnight?

Filed a chargeback with my bank the same week I noticed the site was down. Took about 3 weeks but they clawed back the whole $120. I also left reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit warning other people, which got the company to actually respond to a few people before they fully vanished. Lesson learned the hard way though - now I never pay upfront for more than 3 months of any online service. If they fold, you're out way less money. Sucks that your students got stuck with those broken links though.

Was the chargeback process a huge pain or did your bank make it pretty easy? I've heard some people say their banks fought them on digital purchases since it's harder to prove you didn't get what you paid for (especially when the site just vanishes without a trace). Wondering if you had to jump through a bunch of hoops like screenshotting old emails or digging up payment confirmations from months ago.
