Was it the primer or the paint that fixed my peeling cabinets?

I painted my kitchen cabinets 14 months back with cheap stuff and they started peeling in 6 months, but after sanding down and using a bonding primer last month they look brand new. My buddy says it was the primer doing the heavy lifting, but I think it was the extra prep work with the degreaser. So what do you think, is primer actually the magic ingredient or is it all about how you clean before painting?

Right, so was your buddy there scrubbing greasy cabinets with you? I did the same thing, sanded and degreased like crazy on my old cabinets and they're holding up way better than the first time.

Your buddy is wrong. Primer is just the hype man, degreaser is the actual bodyguard doing all the work.
