My neighbor in apartment 4B told me his sink drain clogged because he never cleaned the pop-up assembly.

He showed me the gunk he pulled out, and now I check mine every six months.

Wow, that's a great reminder. How did he actually clean it, just with hot water and dish soap? I should probably do mine this weekend.

My roommate did his last month and used a full cup of white vinegar with the hot water and soap. It made a huge difference in how fast it brewed. I keep putting mine off because it feels like a whole project. Good luck with yours, hope it doesn't take all afternoon.
