My bathroom fan was louder than my truck until I cleaned the blades last Saturday

I kept putting off fixing the noise for about 4 months because I figured I needed a whole new fan. Finally took it down and saw the blades caked with about 1/8 inch of dust and grime. Wiped them off with a damp cloth and some dish soap, put it back up, and now it purrs like a kitten. Has anyone else had a fan go silent after just a basic cleaning?

Did your friend mention if the fan was wobbling too before they cleaned it?
