Warning: Drywall work in a remote cabin cost me big time

I agreed to a drywall job in a remote cabin last fall. The drive was brutal, over five hours on rough roads. When I arrived, the local store only carried a cheap joint compound I never use. That stuff dried all wrong and left visible seams everywhere. The homeowner was furious and refused to pay the full amount. I lost money on gas and had to redo half the walls. Now I always confirm material availability before accepting distant jobs.
