That fancy auto taper paid for itself... or so I thought

Bought a used auto taper off Craigslist for $400 back in March. Guy swore it was barely used and just needed a cleaning. First job it clogged every 20 feet, then the clutch slipped and I spent 2 hours on the ground fixing it. Ended up hand taping the whole garage to meet my deadline. Took it back to the dealer shop and they quoted $300 in parts plus labor. That thing sits in my truck bed now and I just look at it when I load up my hand tools. Anyone else got burned buying someone else's problem tools?

Cheap tools always cost double in the end.
