My brand new drywall lift collapsed on a job site yesterday

The locking pin failed on a 12 foot sheet and it dropped six feet onto concrete, splitting the board clean in half. Has anyone else had a lift fail on them like this or did I just get a lemon?

Funny how 'new' doesn't mean 'reliable' anymore, does it?

Oh man, that's seriously rough. I gotta ask though, what brand was it? Was it one of the cheaper ones from like a big box store or a name brand someone actually stands behind? I've seen some of those budget lifts where the locking pin looks like it's made of pot metal, and I'd be curious if that's what you got. Like, was the pin itself just a cheap piece of steel or did it snap in a weird way? Seems like a major fail either way.
