Mud day from heck on a 14 foot ceiling in Austin
Yesterday I took a small room addition, 14 foot ceilings, and the homeowner wanted a level 5 finish on every wall. I mixed my first batch of mud too thin, it sagged bad, and I had to scrape and redo a whole corner before noon. Then my banjo clogged three times, pretty sure there was a dried chunk in the bucket I didn't catch. By 4 PM I was covered in dust and my hands were cramping from all the rework. Honestly, I did more sanding than actual mudding, which feels backwards. How do you guys handle tall ceilings without burning the whole day on one coat? Anyone else run into mud that just won't hold?

Stand on stilts and blame the dust for everything.
