Just finished my first whole house on my own in 3 years
Started hanging and taping a little 3 bed ranch over in Greenville last week and wrapped it up this afternoon. Three years ago I was just helping my uncle carry sheets and cleaning up messes, never thought I'd be running a job solo. This house had these tricky bay window returns that took me like 2 hours to figure out the right angle cuts. Felt real good to see the final sanded finish without any waves or bubbles in the seams. I even used a new corner trowel I got and it made the inside corners so much cleaner than my old method. Counting up my hours I think I'm getting faster too, finished this one in about 40 hours including mud work. Anyone else remember their first solo house and what it taught you?

What did you end up charging per square foot for that first one?

Started around $4.50 for that one, but honestly I've seen folks charge way more and get away with it, @morgan.nancy. It's funny how people will pay extra just because they assume higher means better, right?
