Hit 1000 feet of tape in a single shift yesterday and it messed with my head
I've been hanging and finishing drywall for about 8 years now, and I always figured I was a middle of the road taper. Nothing special, just steady. But yesterday we had a big commercial job in Columbus, and I got stuck in a zone where everything just clicked. By lunch I had already taped and mudded 600 feet. By quitting time I hit exactly 1000 feet. I counted it twice on my tally sheet because I didn't believe it. That number surprised me because I always thought guys who claimed 800 plus were either lying or skipping corners. But I didn't rush, I didn't leave dog ears, and every joint got a full bed. Has anyone else hit a number like that and realized you might be better at this than you gave yourself credit for?

Hit that once and my tape gun started making weird noises like it was judging me.

Ngl I had almost the exact same thing happen with a blue tape gun from Lowe's. I hit it on the corner of a box and it started making this grinding noise like it was personally offended. Then it started spitting out tape in weird zigzags like it was trying to draw a map or something. Took me like 20 minutes to untangle the mess and get it working again.
