Figured out why my corner beads kept popping after a job at a school
I was doing a big renovation at Lincoln Elementary last month and had 7 corner beads pop within a week. Turns out the metal studs were flexing from the HVAC kicking on and off, which I never considered before. Anyone else run into issues with corner beads on metal studs?

Jumped into a similar situation at an old office building last year. The HVAC cycling made the whole ceiling grid shift just enough to pop beads on the walls below. Ended up switching to flexible vinyl beads that can move with the framing a bit, never had another pop after that. Did you try any kind of expansion joint detail around the corners near those flexing studs?

Vinyl beads saved me too. No more popping after the switch.
