DAE ever count how many sheets they've hung in a year? My number was nuts.
I was cleaning out my truck yesterday and found a stack of old receipts from the supply house... started adding them up just for fun. From January to now, I've hung exactly 847 sheets of 5/8" firecode. That's just the 5/8", not counting any 1/2" or anything else. It hit me that's over two sheets every single work day, on average. The crazy part is I don't even feel like it's been a crazy busy year, just steady work. Makes you realize how much material moves through your hands without even thinking about it. I guess all those small jobs and basement suites really add up. Has anyone else ever done the math and been surprised by their own number?

That's a wild number to actually see written down. Makes me wonder how much the weight of all that material adds up over a year, like did your truck's suspension notice? River_fox18's buddy with the wire nuts is the same kind of shock, just a different part of the job. Do you ever look back at a finished space now and just see a giant stack of sheets instead of a wall?

My buddy did that with wire nuts once, just to see, and his total was insane. He had over five thousand from a few big apartment re-wires. It really does sneak up on you when you just do the work day to day.
