Corner bead choice bit me on a hotel lobby job last Tuesday
Had to pick between paper-faced metal bead and the old school galvanized stuff for a big curved opening. I went with the paper faced because it was faster, but the mud bubbled up right along the edge in two spots by the time we finished. My foreman just said, 'Shoulda wet it down more,' but the manufacturer says you shouldn't need to. Has anyone else seen this happen with paper faced bead on a tight radius, or was I just too heavy with the first coat?
