Changed my mind about using hot mud after visiting a jobsite in Denver
Went to a buddy's commercial job last month and watched him patch a whole ceiling with 5-minute mud. I always thought hot mud was too risky for big areas but he had it smoothed out and sanded in under 20 minutes. Has anyone else switched over from bucket mud for production work?

Yeah, I used to stick with bucket mud till I tried hot mud on a small bathroom ceiling. Now I use it for all my ceiling patches, way faster to get through multiple coats in a day.

My buddy in Denver says the altitude drys out hot mud way faster than bucket stuff, ever notice that difference up there?
