The guy who said my pump angle was lazy saved my motor
Tbh I always ran my suction hose with a steep drop to get more flow fast. A veteran operator on a job near Tampa told me that kicking it to a 15 degree slope keeps the solids moving steady and cuts wear on the impeller. I tried it for a week, seemed slower at first, but my pump temps dropped a lot. Has anyone else had to unlearn an old habit from one blunt comment?

Them dropping 10 whole degrees changing your pump temps that much sounds like a stretch to me. I bet the weather got cooler that week or something else shifted. But hey, if it works for you and you're not blowing seals, run with it.
