That time I found an old dredge anchor stuck in the mud at Port Arthur
I was down in Port Arthur last month poking around an old dredge site and stumbled on a rusted anchor half buried in the muck. Looked like it was from the 80s based on the stamp I could barely read. Took three of us and a come-along to yank it out. Has anyone else ever dug up weird junk on a job site?

Dont think 80s dredges used anchors like that, more like spuds or wires.

Buddy of mine worked on a Mississippi river dredge back in 83. They used these big old spuds that'd drop down into the mud to keep the thing in place. Said one time a spud got stuck so bad they had to bring in a second boat to yank it free. Took them half a day. Never saw a proper anchor chain on that whole operation.
