Went and tried that same trick on my older machine this morning, worked like a charm but I noticed something weird with the feed rate after. @riley_bell you're totally right about hidden shortcuts, but I think the real trick is knowing which ones actually apply to your specific setup. Most people just copy what they see online without checking if their gear can handle it. I messed up a cutterhead last year because I thought a shortcut would work on my model and it definitely did not.

Funny how one little trick can completely change your whole morning like that... seems like every time I learn a new way to do something simpler it just makes me wonder how many other hidden shortcuts are sitting right there in plain sight.
