That $1,200 stainless flex hose upgrade was pure comedy for me
I dropped $1,200 on a fancy stainless flexible discharge hose last spring after getting sick of kinks on the old rubber one near the Savannah River, and it snagged on a submerged stump within two hours of hookup, splitting right at the fitting... the repair cost more than the hose. My regular pump guy just laughed and said 'should've stuck with the $300 layflat, kid' while he patched it with tape and a hose clamp. Anyone else sink serious cash into a 'premium' part that failed faster than the cheap thing it replaced?

Pure comedy" is putting it lightly, sounds like you paid $1,200 for a two-hour punchline.
