Ever notice how people will fight to the death defending the weird little routines they've made up? Like it's not just about dredging, it's about our brains needing a "good reason" for any habit... even the random ones.

Makes sense when you think about it. Our brains are just trying to make a scary, random world feel safe. Even if the reason is total nonsense.
