Just realized I used to run my cutterhead at max RPM for everything
After a pump clog in the Mobile River last spring, I dial it back to 85% for silty material and haven't lost a day since. Anyone else adjust their approach based on the sediment type?

Yeah, the "max RPM for everything" phase... I think we all live there for a while. I was the same way, just hammer down until the day I tried that in some thick clay and shook a fitting loose that took me three hours to find in the bilge. Felt real smart that day. Dialing it back for the soft stuff just makes sense.

Ugh, three hours looking for one fitting sounds like actual torture. Was it just vibrating loose, or did you actually snap something? I'm always paranoid about cracking a hose clamp in that situation.
