Went back to a set of plans I drew 3 years ago for a warehouse in Phoenix...
The roof drain layout on the original looked like I had just closed my eyes and pointed, but the final as-built set the contractor sent over had every single one shifted 6 feet east to hit the actual column locations, which makes me wonder how many other new-guy mistakes are just sitting out there waiting to embarrass me.

Honestly, that just proves you designed it right and the contractor messed up.

Right, because nothing says "we communicated clearly" like watching someone stare at a drawing and then do the exact opposite of what's on it. I guess the contractor's version of "reading" is just looking at the pictures. Your mileage may vary, but I'm betting my next paycheck that the builder won't be getting a Christmas card from anyone this year.
