Vent: The new city hall plans in Raleigh have a huge clash in the MEP drawings

I was checking out the public display of the new city hall project downtown and the mechanical and electrical layouts are totally off. The ductwork in section B is drawn right through a main structural beam on the architectural sheets. How do you even catch something like that before it hits the field?

My cousin worked on a library renovation where the plumbing plans had a toilet stack running straight through a steel support column. The foreman caught it during a pre-pour walkthrough, but they still had to delay concrete for two weeks to redo the shop drawings. The whole schedule got pushed back because of one line on a PDF.

Classic clash detection fail right there. That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder if anyone opened both files at the same time. Probably gonna need a magic wand to fix that beam or some really bendy ducts. Bet the change order for that will cost more than my car. Just another day in public works planning.
