TIL that offset paper thickness matters way more than I thought for layered CAD plots
I spent 3 hours troubleshooting why my layers weren't aligning on a set of prints for a downtown Denver project. Turned out the plotter was feeding 20 lb bond instead of 24 lb, shifting registration by about 1/32nd. Anyone else run into plotter paper issues that drove you crazy?

Funny you mention that. My crew once spent an entire morning fighting with a set of architectural plans only to realize the paper roll was from a different batch and the thickness threw off the alignment by about half a millimeter on the crease lines. Made me feel like a real genius chasing a ghost problem. Thirty years in this business and I still get caught by the simple stuff. Now I check the paper specs before loading anything, but I still grumble about it every time. Guess that's just how it goes sometimes.

Honestly, I probably would've blamed the printer for a full day before noticing.
