TIL my drafting desk lamp was causing eye strain for over a year

I spent $45 on a cheap desk lamp from a hardware store and assumed it was fine. After 14 months of headaches, a coworker pointed out the flicker from the bulb. Anyone else have a lighting setup that made their work harder without realizing it?
