The day a foreman in Charlotte told me to stop squaring my measurements manually and go digital. I still fight about it.

I was on a big commercial job in Charlotte a few months back, framing out a whole floor. This old foreman, Carl, saw me using my speed square and tape to mark every stud. He walked over and told me to switch to a digital angle finder and laser measure, said I was wasting time. I argued back, saying manual keeps me sharp and batteries die at the worst times. Now I'm split, half my guys swear by digital and half agree with me. Which side do you draft for, old school manual or new school digital tools?

Used to think digital was the easy way out until my laser measure saved me from remeasuring an entire wall after my tape slipped off the end.

Trust your tape measure not your trust in batteries.
