Spotted a neat drafting trick at the county planning office today
I had to drop off some prints at the county planning office on Elm Street this morning. While I was waiting, I noticed one of their senior drafters had this simple grid system taped to their desk for quick scale checks. She explained how she made it with a sharpie and some clear laminate in about 10 minutes. Has anyone else seen a low cost setup like that save time on the job?

Was that grid scaled to match specific plot ratios or just generic 1/8 inch?

Oh yeah I had a similar thing at my last job. We had this old guy who used to photocopy his tape measure and laminate it so he could mark up prints without messing up the original. That grid sound like something my foreman would love. He is always complaining about the time we waste flipping between scales. I might try that with a clear page protector and some graph paper.
