Spent $500 on a drafting tablet and I'm not sold on it yet
I bought a Wacom Intuos last fall thinking it would speed up my redline work and sketching. After six months, I still find myself reaching for my mouse and keyboard for most detail changes... it just feels slower for anything precise. The pressure sensitivity is nice for freehand notes, but I don't do enough of that to justify the cost. Has anyone else switched to a tablet and actually stuck with it for daily drafting?

My buddy at the engineering firm had the same struggle. He got a tablet for markups but said the hand-eye disconnect killed him on small dimensions. He kept going back to his mouse for tightening up bolt circles and editing text. The tablet ended up in his desk drawer, only coming out for the occasional quick sketch during a client call.

Your buddy probably just needed more time to adjust. The disconnect goes away after a few weeks of forcing yourself to use it. Once muscle memory kicks in, making small adjustments is way faster with pen pressure than clicking around. He gave up before the real benefits showed up.
