Spent 45 minutes explaining why you don't scale a drawing in paper space

New guy at the office keeps blowing up his viewport scale and then dragging dimensions around to make them fit. Tried to tell him that's not how it works, he said "it looks fine when I print it." No Dave, it looks fine on your screen. The plotter at 11x17 disagrees. How do you get through to someone who refuses to learn annotative scaling?
