Spent 3 hours drawing a single duct run last Tuesday only to realize I forgot to check the joist direction first

I was so focused on making it perfect in CAD that I didn't even look at the ceiling plan until after, and now my whole layout is useless has anyone else had a simple oversight like that wreck their entire morning?

Used to be pretty dismissive about checking framing first, but after wasting an entire morning on a layout that didn't work, I totally get why people stress it now.

Learn it the hard way yourself, @cameron_palmer, that's how most of us do. It's the same with anything, really. Like, I used to just throw groceries in the fridge wherever they fit, then wonder why stuff went bad in three days. Now I check the airflow and what needs to stay cold first. Saves me money and a ton of frustration, same as checking framing saves your whole morning.
