My partner 'fixed' my drafting desk last week and now I can't find anything
So my husband meant well, I get that. He saw my drafting table was a mess with rolled up plans everywhere and decided to 'organize' it while I was out running errands last Tuesday. He stacked all my half-finished drawings by size instead of by project number. Now I've got a commercial kitchen build from three weeks ago mixed in with a residential addition from last month. I spent an hour this morning trying to find the electrical rough-in notes for that duplex on Harrison Street. Has anyone else had a well-meaning family member mess with your workspace and how did you fix it without starting a fight?

Oh man, the Harrison Street duplex notes. That would drive me up a wall. I'd just tell him straight up "I love you but please never touch my desk again.

Started thinking about it from the other side though. What if the guy with the notes actually remembers his roommate doing something really bad to the house and he's trying to keep the peace without starting a fight? Like maybe the roommate left a mess or broke something and the notes are his passive way of dealing with it. Ive seen people do that instead of confronting a friend directly.
