Just realized hand drafting beats CAD for editing floor plans in a pinch
Spent 8 hours fighting a software glitch on a new commercial layout last Tuesday, dusted off my old parallel bar and did the revision in 45 minutes, anyone else keep a drafting table for emergencies?

Oh man, I gotta push back hard on this one. I get the appeal of pulling out the old drafting table when software acts up, but working digitally saves so much time in the long run. That 8-hour glitch sounds like a bad day, but think about all the hours you lose to physical erasing, redrawing, and scanning. With CAD you can copy and paste whole sections, undo mistakes instantly, and email the file to a client without mailing a blueprint tube. Plus, modern programs have tools that catch errors in measurements and spacing that your eyes might miss after a long day. A parallel bar is great for nostalgia, but it's not going to beat a properly updated software setup once you learn the shortcuts.

Respectfully disagree, sometimes the old way just works without the headache.
