Bought a $40 scale that can't handle an 8.5x11 sheet of paper
Picked up a digital scale from OfficeMax for measuring drawings last Tuesday. It maxes out at 5 pounds and can't even read a standard sheet of vellum if it's folded over. Stuck using my old triple beam now. Anyone know a decent drafting scale under $100?

Just return it and get a real scale.

5 pounds for a drafting scale is weak, my kitchen scale from Walmart can do 11 pounds and it was like 30 bucks. Sounds like OfficeMax sold you a fancy paperweight in a box. Return it and grab an American Weigh scale off Amazon, I use the AWS-100 for my blueprints and it reads down to 0.01 ounces with no fuss. Your old triple beam is probably more reliable than that thing anyway.
