The Dollar Tree frozen fish fillets are actually okay if you do this one thing
I swung by the Dollar Tree on Route 5 last Saturday because I had $6 and a craving for something that wasn't ramen. I grabbed a box of their frozen fish fillets for $1.25 and some boxed mashed potatoes. I cooked the fish in a dry pan on medium heat for exactly 6 minutes per side and it came out crispy without being greasy. The texture was flaky enough that my cat tried to steal a piece off the counter. I added a squirt of lemon juice from one of those plastic lemon bottles they sell near the register and it was almost like a real dinner. Has anyone else figured out a decent meal from their frozen aisle?

Oh man, YES. I tried those same fillets last month when I was broke and honestly I was surprised how decent they were. I did mine in the air fryer at 400 for like 8 minutes and they got that nice crunch without any oil... definitely hits the spot with some tartar sauce.

Yo air fryer tip is the real deal. Dry pan method works too but the air fryer cuts the time in half and gets them even crispier.
