The dollar store pasta brand that went from decent to trash in 6 months

I swear by the Great Value brand at my local Dollar General for pasta. But about 6 months ago, I grabbed their spaghetti and it was like eating cardboard. The noodles clumped together even when I used enough water and salt. I thought maybe I forgot to rinse it but nope. Turns out they switched suppliers back in March or April. I checked the box and it had a different label. Now the angel hair breaks apart if you look at it wrong. Has anyone else noticed this with dollar store pasta brands lately? I'm trying to figure out which ones still hold up.

Eating cardboard" is exactly right, but at least cardboard doesn't break apart into a million tiny pieces when you try to drain it. I grabbed a box of their rotini last week and it somehow turned into mush and broken shards at the same time. It was like someone blended half the box before they put it in the bag. I honestly thought I was doing something wrong until I saw this post. Now I know I'm not crazy, just unlucky. I'll stick to the name brand stuff from now on, even if it costs twice as much. At least I won't have to fish pasta dust out of my colander.

@ellis.felix the pasta dust is real, I had to pick pieces out of the sink strainer for ten minutes.
