The day a $1.25 can of spam changed my Sunday dinner habit
Back in 2019, I was living in Tucson and my grandma came to visit. She saw me throwing out a $3 can of chili because it tasted flat, and she just shook her head. She pulled out a can of spam from the dollar store, diced it up, and tossed it into some instant rice with a packet of taco seasoning. That whole meal cost me about $2.75 and fed the both of us, plus leftovers. I used to think dollar store meats were only for emergencies, but now I plan at least one meal a week around them. Has anyone else found a dollar store ingredient that turned out better than the pricier version?

Your grandma tossing taco seasoning into spam actually sounds kinda genius though.
