Serious question, is canned chicken from Dollar Tree actually safe or what?

My aunt swore up and down that the canned chicken at Dollar Tree was fine, so I used it in a casserole for my church potluck last Sunday. After I served it, three people told me it tasted like metal and one person asked if I was trying to poison them. Has anyone else had weird results with the canned meat there?

Oh man, that sounds like a really rough potluck experience. You definitely have my sympathy, nobody wants to hear that kind of feedback on a dish. Dollar Tree canned meat can be a real gamble, and it sounds like that batch was particularly bad.
