I tested canned chicken from Dollar Tree against the name brand stuff and the cheap one actually won

The Dollar Tree canned chicken had way more meat and less watery sludge than the big name can I paid triple for, so has anyone else noticed the brand names are just coasting on reputation?

Dollar Tree cans are 12oz while name brand ones are usually 10oz, so that explains some of the extra meat.

Oh man, I was totally a name brand snob on canned chicken for years. I figured the cheap stuff had to be pure gristle and water, right? But this post made me actually try the Dollar Tree can and yeah, it was way more solid meat and barely any of that weird jelly liquid. The name brand felt like I was paying for the label and a lot of watery filler, honestly.
