Can opener from Dollar Tree snapped on my 2nd use, thank goodness for backup
Picked up one of those basic hand crank can openers at Dollar Tree last Tuesday, thought I was saving a buck and a half. By Thursday it had stripped gears and left jagged metal edges on a can of mixed veggies. I had to pry the lid off with a butter knife and dump the contents into a bowl, which took forever and made a mess. I learned the hard way that some tools are worth spending two or three bucks more on at the regular grocery store. Dollar store spices, pasta, and rice are solid bets, but anything with moving parts is a gamble. Has anyone else had luck with any actual kitchen gadgets from dollar stores, or do you all just skip them entirely?
