Almost had a fight at the dollar store over canned tomatoes

I was grabbing some stuff for chili at the Family Dollar on Elm Street and this older guy stops me in the aisle. He sees me reaching for the Great Value brand and says "You're making a mistake, those leak all over my stove last month." I kinda laughed it off but he grabbed my cart and showed me the store brand ones with the blue label for $1.25 each. Said he's been buying those for 10 years and they never busted open on him. I swapped them out and honestly he was right, no mess at all. Has anyone else had a random stranger save you from a bad dollar store buy like that?

Blue label store brand is the move, never had one split on me either.
