Thought I could replace a bathroom faucet in 2 hours. Took 6 days.
I figured swapping out an old Price Pfister faucet would be a Saturday morning job. Turns out the supply lines were corroded onto the shutoffs behind the wall, and I snapped one clean off. After calling three plumbers in Denver who wanted $400 just to show up, I spent a whole week cutting out drywall and learning how to solder in a new valve. Anyone else have a simple swap turn into a major wall repair?

Six days for a faucet? That's just how homeownership punishes your confidence.

See it different. Fixing stuff yourself is how you get better at life. Took me a week to replace my garbage disposal because I kept dropping the mounting ring. Learned way more from that mess than if I just called a pro. Now I can swap one in 30 minutes flat. That confidence comes from breaking things and fixing them again.
