My uncle swore by pre-staining before caulking baseboards, I called him crazy for 5 years
He kept telling me to stain the wood first, then caulk, then do the final coat. I always did caulk first because every YouTube guy said that. Finally tried his way on my kitchen remodel in Nashville last month. The caulk lines actually blended into the wood instead of looking like white toothpaste smears. I had to redo a whole 12 foot wall because the old method left these ugly gaps. Anyone else have a stubborn family member who turned out to be right about something like this?

Has your uncle been waiting five years for that "told you so" moment? That pre-stain trick sounds like it would save so much sanding and frustration on the final pass.

Does your uncle do woodworking as a side gig or something? My dad used to always tell me to oil my cutting boards before staining them and I thought he was just making stuff up, but now my kitchen stuff actually lasts more than a year.
