I laughed at my neighbor's $12 foam board insulation trick until my January heating bill came
He cut foam board to fit his basement window wells and wrapped the pipes with pool noodles, and his bill was $40 less than mine in Des Moines. Now I'm wondering if pipe insulation is even worth it or if I should just copy him.
