Unpopular opinion: Skipping primer when painting walls saves time and money.
But my friend says it's a recipe for peeling paint.

Totally agree, did that in my kitchen and it's been fine for years now. Saved a whole weekend and a trip to the store.

Wait, are you sure that's a good idea though...? I mean, skipping primer on kitchen walls can be risky because of all the grease and moisture that builds up over time. Paint can start peeling or bubbling later, even if it looks fine now. Maybe you just got lucky with a really clean surface or the right kind of paint. Still, I'd be nervous doing it myself.
