Unpopular opinion: Plumbers tape is overrated for most DIY leaks
Honestly, I was fixing a dripping shower arm last weekend and grabbed the standard white plumbers tape like always. But then I read online that the thicker pink tape meant for gas lines actually seals way better on water fittings. I tried it on my setup and the drip stopped on the first wrap. Why do hardware stores even sell the thin stuff if it barely works? Has anyone else noticed this or am I just late to the game?

My buddy Joe swore by the pink tape for years. He tried fixing his kitchen sink with the white stuff once and ended up with a puddle on the floor an hour later. Now he just brings his own roll everywhere he goes.
