Thought those fancy paint sprayers were overkill until I did my living room ceiling in 20 minutes

I spent all weekend rolling a patch job in my guest bedroom and it looked terrible. A buddy loaned me his Wagner sprayer for the big living room ceiling. Taped everything off, mixed the paint, and sprayed the whole thing in under 20 minutes. No roller marks, no drips, and it looks professional. I was dead wrong about them being a gimmick. Has anyone else had a tool they swore off until they actually tried it on the right job?

Hold on, I'm going the other way on this. I borrowed a paint sprayer once for a kitchen ceiling and it was a nightmare. The overspray got everywhere even with plastic and tape, and I spent way more time cleaning up than I would have just rolling. Plus you have to buy special tips and thin the paint just right or it clogs. For a small room or patch job like my guest bedroom, rolling is faster and cleaner because you aren't fighting with equipment setup. Sprayers are only worth it if you're doing a whole house or something huge.

Same guy let me borrow his hammer drill. Took me three tries to get the clutch right.
